Ronald Urness | President

Ron Urness, President and Owner, founded Royal Business Forms & Printing, Inc. in 1977 after spending 12 years working for Holden Business Forms. As the founder of Royal, Ron has experienced and worked in every position in one form or another over the years. Ron plays an active role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business while keeping focused on making the decisions necessary for long-term success. Ron’s philosophy has been to keep company debt to a minimum while consistently reinvesting profits back into the business, allowing Royal to evolve from producing traditional business forms to providing full-color market solutions. Ron says his favorite thing about Royal is “the cooperation we get from all the great people here. Our team gets on board quickly with the changes necessary to run a successful business. I enjoy watching everyone contribute to our success.” Ron enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, sports, and going to Twins games. His favorite season is Minnesota's summer and he truly enjoys spending as much time as possible at the lake.

Timothy Urness | Vice-President

Tim Urness has held many positions at Royal over the past 20 years from Plate Maker early on in his career to Customer Service and Sales Manager. Tim graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business from the University of St. Thomas and is currently Royal’s Vice-President. Tim’s history with the company has given him the vision to understand and implement customer-driven solutions. Tim has the privilege of managing the awesome Royal team. He spends most of his time working with the sales team on new business opportunities and on long-term business planning. Tim says his favorite thing about Royal is “all the great, dedicated people I get to work with on a daily basis. Although there are many challenges that go along with succeeding in this business, we have a lot of fun while at ‘work’. Overall, I really enjoy the independent spirit of the distributor print market we serve.” Tim and his wife live in Ham Lake, MN and are blessed with two wonderful kids. They enjoy keeping busy with their kid’s activities, including hockey and soccer. They especially enjoy the summer months when they get to spend time as a family creating memories at their cabin in Wisconsin.

Timothy Van Norman | Production Manager

While attending North Hennepin Technical College in 1979, Tim Van Norman started his career with Royal as a Press Operator. After many years as a dedicated Press Operator, Tim became a Production Supervisor and is currently Royal’s Production Manager. Tim is in charge of scheduling and monitoring all phases of the production process. Tim is also one of the leaders on our Process Improvement Committee. Tim lives in Champlin, MN with his wife and enjoys golfing and fishing.

Keith Futhey | Plant Manager

Keith Futhey has been a part of the Royal team for over 32 years. He is currently our Plant Manager, but was previously a Collator Operator and Shift Supervisor. Keith manages the production floor and makes sure orders travel through as smoothly as possible. Keith’s favorite things about Royal are the skills and work ethic of the employees. He is from Aitkin, MN and enjoys bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and home remodeling projects.

John Brickman | Prepress & Scheduling Manager

John Brickman began working for Royal in 1999 as a Typesetter. As the Prepress & Scheduling Manager, John manages the Scheduling & Art Departments and assists in the development and design of forms. John has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design from Brown College. John’s favorite thing about Royal is the people. When he is not at work, he enjoys playing softball and golf, watching movies, and participating in underwater basket weaving.

Kevin Haeg | Controller

Kevin Haeg joined Royal in 2009 as our Controller. He has 30 years experience as a Controller, C.F.O., C.E.O, Financial Analyst, and Consultant. He has a Business Administration degree from the University of St. Thomas. Kevin’s favorite thing about Royal is the owner’s dedication to the employees and the customers. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys working with youth, especially through the Boy Scouts of America.

Samantha Kurien | Human Resource Manager

Samantha Kurien joined the Royal team in 2009 after graduating from North Dakota State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Resource Management. She previously worked as a Human Resource Intern with Fargo Automation, Inc. and an Advertising Intern with Aveda Corporation. As our Human Resource/Quality Control Manager, Samantha is responsible for hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, policy development, and our quality control program. Samantha’s favorite thing about Royal is the friendships she has built with her co-workers. She enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.

Darin Bohn | Sales & Marketing Representative

Darin Bohn joined the Royal team in 2002 after many years as a Customer Service Manager and Sales Representative at Midwest Business Forms and a Print Buyer at The Mel Straub Corporation. Darin has an Associates Degree in Business Administration. His favorite thing about Royal is the overall commitment of each employee to Royal’s customers. Darin is from Pomeroy, IA and enjoys hunting, fishing, and coaching youth sports.

Kimberly Suchy | Marketing & Account Manager

Kim Suchy received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN; she majored in Communications and Business and minored in English Writing. During college Kim was an Investor Relations Intern for Community First Bank and a Communications/Media Intern for the City of Moorhead. After graduating in 2001 she was hired full-time by Royal as an Internal Sales Representative. Kim’s goal in her current position as a Marketing & Account Manager is to maintain and grow business with specific key accounts. She also spearheads Royal’s marketing efforts, helps with the customer service hotline, and serves on Royal’s improvement committees. Kim says her favorite thing about Royal is “the way we value and respond to our customers and that we are constantly working together to improve our products, services, and processes.” Kim has twin daughters that keep her very busy! When she has free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and traveling. She is also a huge sports fan.

Debbie Koep | Account Manager

Debbie Koep has been a member of the Royal team since 1983. Before coming to Royal she worked in the Guidance Office at Mounds View High School and in the Inspection Department of The Bureau of Engraving. Debbie has always been part of Royal’s Customer Service area. She started as the receptionist, moved to Supervisor and is now an Account Manager. Debbie’s main duty is to service four of Royal’s top accounts along with providing backup to other Account Managers. She is also part of the Customer Service team that handles quote hotline and customer service calls. Having worked in a large company atmosphere, Debbie appreciates the “family” feeling at Royal. She feels she is more then just number 12 on the employee list. She has made lifelong friends with fellow co-workers as well as customers. Debbie loves sports, reading, movies, doing crossword puzzles (a must during lunchtime at Royal), and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, at her hobby farm.

Teri Prokott has over 25 years of experience in the Printing Industry. She is currently an Account Manager and has been with Royal for 17 years. Teri’s favorite thing about Royal is the wonderful people she works with and the wonderful company Royal is to work for. Teri is from Sioux City, IA and enjoys crocheting in her spare time.

Jennifer Miller | Account Manager

Jennifer Miller began working for Royal in 2001. Before coming to Royal she worked in TV Advertising. As an Account Manager, Jennifer manages and services her key accounts and makes sure jobs are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Jennifer likes that Royal is a solid company that takes care of its employees and offers superior quality to its customers. She spends most of her free time with her family. They love summertime activities, including swimming, boating, and going to parks and zoos.

Jill Neitzel has been with Royal for over 20 years and has a certification in Commercial Art. As an Account Manager II, Jill focuses on sales and customer service and is a member of Royal’s Safety Committee. Jill’s favorite thing about Royal is the people. She lives in Anoka, MN, where she enjoys biking, playing the djembe, fishing, and camping.

Before coming to Royal in 2002, Dale Yant spent 26 years at Midwest Business Forms. Dale has a Graphic Communications degree from 916 Vo-Tech. Dale is responsible for inside sales, customer service, estimating, and promoting the good name of Royal in the marketplace. Dale’s favorite things about Royal are the management, workplace atmosphere, and co-worker camaraderie. In his free time, Dale enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Steven Johnson | Purchasing Agent

Steve Johnson has been a part of the Royal team for over 30 years. Steve started at Royal as a Press Operator and is now our Purchasing Agent/Production Coordinator. Steve is responsible for all of the purchasing that goes on at Royal. Steve’s favorite thing about Royal is the people and the lasting friendships he has built over the years. Steve thoroughly enjoys watching sports and playing golf.

Karen Lindquist | Order Processing Specialist

Karen Lindquist is Royal’s second employee and has been with the company for over 30 years. Some of Karen’s previous roles at Royal were working in the Bindery and boxing at the end of the collators. Karen is currently our Order Processing Specialist and has the pleasure of seeing every job cross her desk as she processes orders and creates job tickets. Karen’s favorite thing about Royal is the friendly family atmosphere. Her hobbies include knitting, walking, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Rich Bullock | Graphic Services Specialist

Rich Bullock joined Royal in 1998 after working in the Art and Development Department at NordicTrack. As Royal’s Graphic Services Specialist, Rich works on 4-color jobs and artwork with color adjustments, sets files according to customer specs, troubleshoots files, manages the windows server for work groups, and repairs issues with the Mac operating system and programs. Rich attended Hennepin Technical College where he earned Electronic Publishing Information Specialist and Color Electronic Prepress degrees and an Automotive Mechanics certificate. He also earned a certificate from Dunwoody in Color Correction. Rich enjoys fixing cars and computers, coin collecting, sports, reading and studying the Bible, working out, and flipping houses when the market is good.

Randy Collins | Layout & Design Specialist

Randy Collins has more than 30 years of experience in the Business Forms Industry and has been with Royal for over 12 years. As our Layout & Design Specialist, she is responsible for drawing forms and working with our sales team and customers to meet the different needs and specifications of each job. She has a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. Randy’s favorite thing about Royal is the terrific people she works with. Her interests include reading, history, antique jewelry, the supernatural, folk and bluegrass music, crossword puzzles, interior design, shoes, the Animal Humane Society, horror movies, old houses and castles, medieval art, and most of all, her family and friends.

Tammy Comstock has nearly 20 years of experience in the Printing Industry. She has been with Royal for over 12 years, and has previous experience from Englund Graphics. She attended Hennepin Technical College where she studied Printing. As our Prepress Coordinator, Tammy facilitates the flow of jobs through the Art Department, participates in proofreading, and assists with customer’s specific needs. Tammy’s favorite things about Royal are that it is family owned and that she works with a great group of people. Tammy enjoys gardening, reading, exercising, and spending time with her family.

Kristie Johnson | Logistics & Administrative Manager

Kristie Johnson started working part-time for Royal in 1996 shortly after graduating from high school. Her original intention was to work part-time for Royal until she graduated college with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology, but it turned out to be long-term employment. Kristie’s previous positions at Royal were Label Printer, Bindery Specialist, and Warehouse Lead. As Royal’s Logistics & Administrative Manager, Kristie processes and prepares paperwork for shipments going out on a daily basis; handles vendor negotiations; and manages the work, time, employees, and troubleshooting in her department. Kristie believes Royal is a good company to work for and one of the things she likes the most is that the people she works with are like a second family. Kristie enjoys reading, cooking, quilting, and spending time with friends, family, and her baby (cat) Sophie.

Corenna Larson | Shipping Coordinator

Corenna Larson joined Royal in April 2010 after working for APG Cash Drawer for 6 years. As the Shipping Coordinator, Corenna assists in the shipping of outbound finished goods, freight quotes, invoicing, and mail processing. Corenna is currently studying Business Administration at Metropolitan State University. Corenna’s favorite thing about Royal is the people. She enjoys playing with her two dogs, Princess Leia and King Louie, reading, theatre, and trying new restaurants in the Twin Cities.

Jane Stolp has been a member of the Royal team since 1998 and has over 20 years experience in accounting. As Royal’s Senior Bookkeeper, Jane maintains and updates accounts payable files, prepares a variety of month, quarter, and year-end reports, and maintains accuracy of the general ledger accounts. Jane’s favorite things about Royal are the friendly atmosphere and the friendships she has made with her co-workers. She enjoys reading and spending as much time as possible with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Nancy Grimm has been a member of the Royal team since 2007. She has an Administrative Professional certificate and was selected Volunteer of the Year by the Air Force Family Services and Support. Nancy has 35 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in a number of organizations, including some overseas. As Royal’s Administrative Assistant, Nancy greets guests, directs phone calls, and assists co-workers with other administrative duties. Her favorite thing about Royal is the people. Nancy enjoys cooking, sewing, stamping, quilting, and traveling.
